Capable of research tasks in oceanography, fisheries and environmental science, marine geosciences, and multidisciplinary marine research. Available for use by Australian marine researchers and collaborators on a competitive or commercial basis providing Australian marine researchers a platform for research work at sea. The Marine National Facility Steering Committee assists CSIRO in the management of the National Facility, providing oversight of the assessment of proposals for use of the Southern Surveyor and planning future activities.
